Originating around 1830, “Owari Shippo” has a rich history.
Shippo-yaki involves applying a glassy glaze to the surface of a metal base to depict designs.
However, in the case of “Owari Shippo” the outlines of the design are accentuated with silver wire.
We used this technique to depict Japan’s abundant nature and created small, button-like door handles to add subtle accents to spaces.

Traditional Crafts

Developed uniquely in Japan, this is Japanese cloisonné.
Delicate flower petals are outlined with thin silver ribbons, and layers of mineral-based glaze are applied to depict beautiful, deep colors inspired by nature's hues.

Here, the cluster of trees express depth depending on the presence or absence of silver wire.
The light falling amid the quiet snowy landscape shines in various colors, reflecting off the silver foil sinking to the bottom.
